keemay Wali Mong Dal

Ingredients

  • Yellow lentils  125 gm
  • Mince  250 gm
  • Onion chopped  1
  • Spring onion 1
  • Tomatoes boiled  3
  • Water  1 cup
  • Yogurt  125 gm
  • Dill chopped  ½ bunch
  • Coriander leaves  ¼ bunch
  • Oil  ¼ cup
  • Green chilies  2 – 3
  • Turmeric  1 tsp
  • Chili powder  1 tsp
  • Crushed red pepper  1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves  1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste  1 tbsp
  • Salt  to taste

Method

  1. Heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and fry well. Now add 250 gm mince and fry till its color is changed.
  2. Then add 125 gm yogurt, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp crushed red pepper and salt to taste. Fry for 1 – 2 minutes.
  3. Now add 1 cup soaked yellow lentils, cover and simmer on low flame for 10 – 15 minutes until lentil is tender.
  4. Remove lid, add 1 chopped spring onion, ½ bunch of chopped dill, ¼ bunch of chopped coriander leaves, 2 – 3 chopped green chilies, 3 chopped tomatoes and 1 chopped onion. Fry well.
  5. Lastly add 1 tsp dry fenugreek leaves and salt to taste. Mix well, dish it out and serve hot.
